Job Description

Ensure effective security, safety and emergency response preparedness at GIA India and Middle East operations and provide leadership to the safety and security staff at company’s international business units in India

Job Responsibility

Physical Security Operations: 25%
  • Identify security risks and manage necessary remediation, acceptance, mitigation, or transference efficiently and timely.
  • Gather, evaluate, and prioritize security risk information, sharing it with relevant key individuals.
  • Establish and monitor effective access-control measures for visitors.
  • Coordinate and conduct investigations related to security, managing issues and incidents as they arise.
  • Support the development and implementation of Corporate Security Policies, Standards, and relevant local procedures to prevent or minimize losses and business disruptions.
  • Assist in developing practical procedures for employees and visitors.
  • Ensure compliance with Corporate Security rules, standards, guidelines, and applicable local legislation.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key staff and line positions concerning security and health & safety matters.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise operational security activities and projects.
  • Conduct internal security audits.
  • Provide leadership, advice, and counsel to security staff to achieve strategic program objectives.
  • Conduct new employee orientations on safety and security policies.
  • Liaise with local government agencies, authorities, security vendors, and professional security organizations.
  • Mentor and develop the security team by managing work allocation, performance evaluations, and fostering an effective team dynamic.
  • Provide regular briefings and training to security staff on existing and new SOPs.
Technical Safety & Security Operations: 25%
  • Ensure all security technical systems are operational at all times, avoiding undue risk exposure to the business.
  • Oversee the maintenance and upgrade of fire safety systems to prevent fire safety risks.
  • Identify potential exposures and develop corrective plans as necessary.
  • Ensure proper installation, commissioning, and testing of equipment, coordinating with vendors.
  • Regularly assess and upgrade systems as appropriate.
Safety, Emergency Preparedness and Response: 30%
  • Plan, develop, and implement safety programs, including Emergency Response, Crisis Management, Incident Management, and Investigation.
  • Conduct safety risk assessments and submit reports highlighting areas for improvement.
  • Review live CCTV monitoring to ensure quick responses to security and safety situations.
  • Monitor external environments through TV and other sources, alerting superiors to potential impacts on company operations or staff safety.
  • Review and implement emergency response plans, conducting preparedness drills to ensure readiness.
  • Train and test security staff on emergency response, ensuring no major non-compliance during audits, drills, or emergencies.
  • Develop procedures for existing and new activities, including departmental responses to non-routine situations.
  • Ensure that all security and safety incidents are reported, recorded, investigated, and resolved with effective corrective actions within agreed timelines.
  • Apply occupational safety measures to prevent undue people-safety risks.
  • Ensure regulatory and statutory compliance through bi-annual safety audits and gap closure, following RJC guidelines.
Internal Audits & Records Management: 20%
  • Maintain required documentation in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to the legal register.
  • Audit material management records to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Audit visitor management records to ensure adherence to company policies.
Qualifications:
  • Management Graduate Work Experience
  • Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience.

Technical Security Systems:
  • Ensure the continuous operation and monitoring of technical security systems to meet all security standards.
Local Regulations:

  • Lead and manage investigations into criminal activities and fraud, ensuring thorough and timely resolution.
